COMMENTS:

Mr. Garrett was hired by Dr. Kurt Debus in 1956, and relocated to Titusville, FL in December of that same year as a member of the ABMA launch support crew that ultimately achieved the launch of Explorer I and Vanguard I satellites in 1958.  He became a member of NASA with transition from NACA in 1960.  His career continued through the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, and Shuttle programs until his retirement in 1980.  (Submitted by Randy Garrett)
