POSITIONS:

Advanced Space Shuttle Systems Technician

COMMENTS:

Senior Advanced Systems Maintenance Technician on the Space Shuttle. Responsibilities included Technician / Assistant Manager / Lead Technician/ Engineering Technician / Move Director duties which include the following.

• Ensure all tasks, modifications and repairs are completed in accordance with Engineering and NASA requirements to meet timely schedule issues.
• Closely interface with upper level Managers, Schedulers/Planners, Engineers, Logistics and Inspectors to address all concerns.
• Interpret drawings and disposition discrepancies documented.
• Distribute work and verify satisfactory completion by qualified technicians.
• Verify / ensure that all work is documented properly and on time.
• Provide direction and guidance to a technical crew of 10-150 personnel.
• Ensure technicians are properly trained and qualified.
• Direct hazardous operations including Hypergolic, launch preps, landing recovery operations, handling of highly toxic / flammable chemicals and critical movements of flight hardware components.
• Ensure all work performed by personnel under my direction is carried out within Company and Customer (NASA) policies and procedures.
• Travel to offsite locations world wide to support recovery operations.
• Perform scheduled / unscheduled maintenance, pre-flight and post flight inspections, stacking, launch and landing operations of the NASA Shuttle Fleet.
