Daniel Green McDonnell-Douglas Retirement Plaque

Dan played an instrumental role in the development of Titan rocket engines and Apollo Program systems, had a part in the merger of McDonnell Aircraft and Douglas Aircraft, was a staunch advocate for the creation of America’s first space station Skylab, and rounded out his storied career by serving as a vice president – general manager at McDonnell Douglas working on several space and advanced proprietary programs. As part of the advisory board of The Space Museum/Grissom Center in Bonne Terre, MO, Dan plays a role in the direction of the facility and how they best highlight the story of space exploration that he has been so intimately involved in.

“Daniel M. Green is vice president-general manager of Business Development and vice president Missile Defense Programs.
Prior to his current appointment. Green was vice president-general manager Defense Information Systems where he was responsible for management of programs in ballistic missile defense, maritime warfare and information systems.
Green joined (McDonnell) Douglas in 1964 as a marketing manager on the Saturn launch vehicle program. He advanced through positions in marketing, engineering and program management at McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company and became vice president of Marketing and Advanced Program Development in 1985. Later he served as vice president-general manager Strategic Systems for McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Company.
Green has extensive experience in cruise missiles, having worked on the Vanguard, Saturn, Tomahawk and Harpoon programs. He also participated in the Skylab space station program.
Green is a graduate of American River College, Sacramento, California. He is a past chairman of the board of the Orange County, California Council on World Affairs and also served on the board of directors of the Protocol Foundation of Orange County.”
