COMMENTS:

David Vozzola, also known as Dave, enlisted in the USAF in 1955 and served as an electronics technician for the F-86D Sabre jet.  After his discharge from the USAF in 1959, he enrolled at the University of Florida (UF) under the G.I. Bill.  In 1963 he graduated from UF with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.  He immediately moved from Gainesville to Merritt Island and began working for General Dynamics on the Gemini Program.  In 1964, he began working for IBM on the Apollo Project where he focused on the Saturn V Instrument Unit (IU), which contained the guidance system.  After the conclusion of the Apollo moon missions in 1972, Dave worked on the Apollo-Soyuz and Skylab project until 1974.  Dave continued his successful engineering career for IBM in East Fishkill NY (1974-1975) and Boca Raton FL (1975-1995).
