COMMENTS:

Have worked 35 years at K.S.C. Started with Federal Electric corp. in December 1967 in ground communications on O.I.S., P.A. maintenance, telephone maintenance, System center operations, all radio systems, 46 a carrier maintenance, Crawler – transporter comm system and associated UHF radio transmission equipment, crane radio systems, audio bridging networks, SLF comm systems, Long wires tests and maintenance,  Sound reinforcement systems in conference rooms, Some P.A.O. work, firing room comm systems, including test conductor communication consoles.  Worked on these systems in all areas of complex 39 and CDSC in the industrial area. Also did many design and circuit modifications for improvement of existing systems. At start of employment with Federal Electric I set up a preventive maintenance program for the crawler – transporter UHF radio system and cleared up all of the bad communications troubles on it. Taught the essentials of doing this and turned it over to another tech as I went on night shift at the time. I also have written a preventive maintenance procedure on the complex 39 P.A. system.  Updated and red lined all documentation on the L.C.C.  P.A. system.  Modified and installed a microphone switching system in the firing room 4 conference room in order to get far more gain and superior performance out of the sound system in there eliminating feedback problems. Modified crane radio microphone mountings in order to stop vibrations from getting into the crane radios which were interfering with intelligibility. Many, many, more systems improvements and modifications were done over the years. Too many to go into here.   Was awarded a commendation for professional excellence in a job well done on many system problems  May 16, 1990 by Lockheed Space ops.  Was awarded Support Operations Employee of the Month by Lockheed Space ops in May 1993. Was awarded Silver Snoopy on January 19th, 1994 by Astronaut Ken Bowersox.  Took Medical retirement January 7th 2003.
