COMMENTS:

Following his service in the military, David Finley, a Marine veteran, returned home to pursue his dream of working at Kennedy Space Center. He was hired by United Space Alliance as a PAD Electrician, in March, 2000, and remained with the space shuttle program through its final launch of STS-135 (Atlantis), from Launch Pad 39A, in July, 2011.

David’s participation in the program has been highlighted by his commitment to quality and his fellow team members, even in times of tragedy and loss, such as in 2003, with the recovery of Space Shuttle Columbia.  His pride in, and care for the program, has been unwaivered since his first day on the job.

While saddened at the close of the shuttle program, David remained confident space exploration would continue and progress. Following five years of deploying to Afghanistan, David once again, returned home, and to the space center; this time, hired by SpaceX, as a launch technician in April, 2017.

One cannot dispute the hard work, perseverance, faith, enthusiasm and success that are held in the past, present, and future of both the space program, and David.
