Dennis Raichart was born in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He graduated from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana.  He then went on to attend and receive a PhD from Standford University.  From 1980 to 1988 and 1992 to 2014 he worked on the Space Program and Space Shuttle Program.  In 2001 he was awarded the Silver Snoopy.
