COMMENTS:

Don received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering in May 1972 from Texas A&M University, and went to work for the Rocketdyne Division of North American Rockwell in July 1972.  He spent his entire 39 1/2 year career at Rocketdyne, which was over that time, was part of the Rockwell International, Boeing and United Technologies Corporations. He retired in December 2011.  During that time he served in a variety of engineering and program management positions working on the design, development, production, test and flight operations of many liquid rocket engines, including: SSME, Atlas MA-3, RS-27/RS-27A; Atlas MA-5/MA-5A; RS-68; MB-XX, and IPD. In 2004 he was recognized by Rocketdyne and the Rotary Club of Houston with a RNASA Stellar Award for Career Achievement for his work in the design, development and flight operations of liquid rocket propulsion engines. Following his retirement he worked for four years as a consultant in the field of liquid rocket propulsion for the U.S. Government and private industry clients.
