A graduate of the California Institute of Technology, Ed Shuster was the Test Engineer on the crash program to develop a stable injector for the Lunar Module Ascent (LMA) Engine.  The engine had to operate stably to return the astronauts from the lunar surface.  Rocketdyne was given the task of providing a stable injector when the original contractor was unable to do so.  Ed was a key engineer in Rocketdyne’s support of the initiation of the Japanese Space Program becoming highly respected by his Japanese counterparts.  Ed continued his career on the Peacekeeper missile fourth stage development and a number of programs to develop miniature kill vehicles  for ballistic missile interception.
