COMMENTS:

George Thompson was a gifted engineer who worked in the U. S. space program for Burns and Roe as well as Grumman for many years. He was s member of the Grumman team that designed and Built the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM). Unfortunately he passed away in 1967 before having the opportunity to see the moon landing he worked so hard on.

George graduated first in his high school class in garden City, NY prior to graduating from New York Polytechnic Institute in the 1930’s.
