Gerald began his forty year aerospace career in 1971 in Huntsville, AL as a draftsman/designer.  He worked on three space programs, Apollo, Space Shuttle, and International Space Station. In 1983 he transferred to Titusville to continue working on the Shuttle Program Solid Rocket Boosters, eventually retiring in 2011.
