Electromechanical Test Technician at Garrett AiResearch, later known as Allied Signal Aerospace from 1980 to 1991

COMMENTS:

Among other products, Garrett AirResearch engineered, built and tested the Orbital Maneuvering System actuators that controlled the positioning of the OMS engines. This was critical to put the thrust plane through the Space Shuttle’s center of gravity. The shuttle’s CG changed through the flight  due to payloads being released, fuel and consumable levels, etc.
