COMMENTS:
I worked for NASA Johnson Space Center from June 1962 to June 1997. Work involved aerodynamics on Apollo, and many other programs. I was selected in 1969 to participate in the initial Shuttle design project under the direction of Max Faget. Participated in the aerodynamic data base for Shuttle through wind tunnel testing and analytical aerodynamics. In 1985 I was appointed as the Shuttle Aerodynamics Subsystem Manager, which I held until retirement in 1997. Following retirement, I consulted with the Skunk Works, Lockheed Denver, and Johnson Space Center on multiple projects. I was asked to participate in the establishment of a NASA Archive Project by uploading most of the near 15,000 documents I have stored on my personal computer. In 1994 I was presented the AIAA Associate Fellow Award. In November 20223, I was also recognized for my Shuttle work at Johnson Space Center with the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Aerospace Engineering Department at Texas A&M University.
