COMMENTS:
Sydney Video Apollo 11 Slow Scan TV Converter at the end of the EVA 99% of which was covered by the tracking stations at HSK (24m) antenna in Canberra and Parkes (74m) antenna which had to wait until moonrise to acquire the lander. The equipment behind me provided the world the video coverage of Armstrong and Aldrin on the moon. Armstrong stepping onto the moon came from HSK. Parkes acquired the signal just as Aldrin exited from the lander and covered the rest of the EVA. I initially installed and set up this equipment as well as the rest of the equipment that was located in a facility we called Sydney video. A month before the mission this equipment experienced a catastrophic failure. I along with Ted Knotts who was also with Bendix, Elmer Fredd with RCA and Dick Nafzger our NASA liaison who worked at GSFC somehow got this equipment working for Apollo 11.
