Terry Treinen was the Development Engineer on the crash program to develop a stable injector for the Lunar Module Ascent (LMA) Engine.  The engine was a single point failure in returning the astronauts from the lunar surface and had to operate stably.  When the original contractor could not make the engine operate stably, Rocketdyne was given the task of providing a stable injector.  A company executive remarked that the critical path to the moon ran through Terry’s desk.
